Linden Flower is derived from the flowers and branches of various species of trees belonging to the Tilia genus. These are rich in heteropolysaccharides that form a thin transparent film capable of binding and releasing water. Thanks to its film-forming power, linden extract can limit water loss and act as a protector for the hair shaft, reducing its porosity and increasing its shine and softness. Linden extract also contains flavonoids, such as rutin and quercetin, tannins and a low percentage of essential oil, responsible for its refreshing, tonic and soothing properties. Infusions and aqueous extracts obtained from the flowers of Tilia genus are widely used in folk medicine to promote sleep and treat anxiety.
